To keep the good people throughout the transition, you need to talk to them about their potential…and then give them roles in the transformation that will use it more. If you can help these key people grow 10 years experience in 3 years by giving them a big part of the transformation to be responsible for, they will put more of themselves into their role and won’t be leaving right now. They will realize that they will not grow faster on the outside, and will be more valuable to other companies in the future (with this faster growth).
