A values conflict is always the most difficult to work with, and this leader will need to really think this one through. Moving too quickly without showing accomplishments within a role never makes you look good. So, in the short term, focusing on delivering the best you can to yours and the company’s goals. Keep evaluating what the difficulty is with the CEO, as maybe it’s a different way of operating and not a strong values clash. If it turns out to be a values clash, then look on the outside while continuing to deliver strong results on the inside.
