It’s good to have a talk with Pat, and maybe even share with Pat that you have questions too. It’s important to get across to Pat that the goal is not to just communicate that there is a problem, but to influence what could be a better solution. You don’t want Pat to be known as a problem explainer, but a problem solver. Maybe the two of you can think about your own influence strategy to get people aligned around an alternative which could produce better results.
