I would start by asking the executive about their own motivations…and what is driving them to perform at their best. Then, I would ask them if his/her people share those same motivations or do they have others. As motivation is a fuel, I would share ideas for this executive seeing that understanding his/her people’s motivations is just as important as understanding their capabilities and competencies. By understanding everyone’s personalities and motivations, he can motivate and organize a stronger teamwork and deliver higher performance.
