I will need to set the expectations before with everyone. This requires a new set of principles or guidelines about how the meetings will be run, and also I would need to give my people a few examples of the way to provide their updates from now on. I think the key is that everyone comes better prepared on not just what was completed, but the key milestones ahead to keep good progress towards the outcomes/goals. Everything begins with making the new expectations clear, and great examples so everyone can see how they can meet those expectations. An achievement discussion is always more memorable than an activity discussion.
